Many people in rural Uganda face challenges like poverty, unemployment, and lack of education. Without skills, it is hard for them to find good jobs or start small businesses to support their families. At JEDA, we understand that giving people practical skills is one of the best ways to change their lives for the better.
Through our skills training programs, we help young people, women, and other community members learn useful things like tailoring, carpentry, hairdressing, farming, and business management. These skills give them the confidence and knowledge to create their own jobs or find employment.
For example, women who learn tailoring can start making clothes for their communities and earn money to support their children’s school fees and daily needs. Young people who learn carpentry can open workshops and provide furniture to their villages. These small businesses not only help individuals but also improve the whole community because they create more jobs and encourage others to learn.
In addition to practical skills, we also teach people about saving money and managing small businesses. This helps them grow their income and become self-reliant.
Skills training also brings hope. It makes people believe that they can improve their lives and break the cycle of poverty. Many people who join our programs say they feel more respected and happy because they can now take care of their families and contribute to their community.
At JEDA, we are proud to see how skills training is changing lives in rural Uganda. We believe that when people are empowered with skills, they have the power to shape their own future and create stronger, healthier communities.
